Something New!
Caught short that day and see something you want to bid on?
We now offer a 90 day Layaway for items of more than $50 in auction price. 25% of sale ($15 minimum). Pick up within 90 days. Any item not redeemed from Layaway will be placed back into inventory and NO REFUND OF DEPOSIT WILL BE GIVEN.
Rules and Bidding:
Because we operate a regular retail establishment some items intended to be offered for auction may be sold prior to the start of auction.
Many, not all items, start at one penny (one cent).
Some will be classified as "Swap Auction" items because someone has guaranteed an exchange for an item they have for the designated auction item. Here's how this happens:
During Preview of any item, a potential bidder may express an interest in swapping something they have for the auction item. We'll call them the "Swapper".
The Swapper will bring the item to the Swappee (that's us!) at least one day prior to the start of auction.
Both parties will agree on an exchange value for the Swapper's item(s).
The item along with a signed agreement shall be kept by the Swappee.
This value will establish the opening bid amount.
The auction will be conducted and the final sales price will be established.
If the item is not bid up from the opening amount, the auction item will be withdrawn and the exchange made.
The Swapper will receive credit for the exchange value used as the opening bid amount if he or she wins the auction item. If he or she does not, the Swap is off and the Swapper shall have no recourse to Swappee.
Some items may have a reserve and will be identified as such prior to start of auction for that item.
Some items will start at a higher opening bid and will not be offered at less than the opening amount: they will be withdrawn from auction if no interest is shown at the opening bid amount.
A ten percent (10%) Buyer's Premium will be added to the final sales amount. The Buyer's Premium shall in no case be less than one dollar for any item selling for less than ten dollars ($10.00 USD). No Buyer's Premium shall be made against a Swapper for the final sales price of that specific item.
Any bidder must have a valid bidder's number. A one hundred dollar deposit shall be made by any bidder prior to the acceptance of bid and assignment of bidder's number. Deposits may be made by cash or credit card. At the conclusion of the auction, a total due from each bidder shall be determined and the difference, if any, between final amount and deposit shall be paid prior to the release of any item(s). Any refund of deposit balance due shall be immediately made. Personal or Company checks are not acceptable forms of payment for either final settlement or for deposit. Only Cash or Credit/Debit cards will be accepted.
At the time an item is pronounced "Sold" no other bids will be accepted. The time at which an item is consdiered "Sold" is entirely at the discretion of the auctioneer.
On May 1, 2005 Mr. Beale, himself, was in the store and proclaimed, "This is a great store!"
